International Student Check-In Session Registration

      Congratulations on your admission to UMKC! As an F-1 or J-1 visa holder, you are required to attend an immigration Check-In session in person upon your arrival to the US.

      Once you have received your F-1 or J-1 visa, please register for one of the available sessions listed below. Some reminders:
      • You must have already obtained your visa in order to register - please be prepared with a color scan of your visa to upload on the registration page.
      • You will need to be physically present on campus for your selected session, so please choose a date that is after your planned arrival date to Kansas City.


      Select a session below based on the semester you will begin your studies at UMKC (fall, spring, or summer).       Once we have received your registration and confirmed your F-1 or J-1 visa copy, you will be eligible to meet with your academic advisor to enroll in classes.

      Currently, check-in session dates are only available for students admitted to FALL 2026. If you are a Summer 2026 admit, please contact isao@umkc.edu for further details.
